Richard S. Figueroa, PIA, CPRC, CFM, CSNA

Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor, UBS Financial Services, Partner, Caton Figueroa Group

Native Texan Rick Figueroa is a Vice President with UBS Financial Services in Houston, Texas and Partner with the Caton Figueroa Group which provides financial strategy, solutions and reviews.  With over 12 years of experience in the financial sector, Rick received his B.A. in Accounting and M.S. in Land Economics from Texas A&M University in 1991 and 1992, respectively.  He has since earned numerous certifications, including Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), and Certified Special Needs Advisor (CSNA) with the Private Client Group at Merrill Lynch.

He joined Arthur Andersen in 1992; then Halliburton in 1995. Serving as a Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor, Rick worked with industry giant Merrill Lynch for over 10 years (1997-2008) where he was honored with the 2007 Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion Award and the 2007 Merrill Lynch Greater Houston Complex Values Award. Rick came over to UBS Financial Services Inc. in 2009 and is the Vice President of Investments for the Caton Figueroa Group. He also chairs the Community Engagement Board for the Houston UBS Region.

As a community leader, Rick is actively involved on the boards for numerous community organizations, and he serves as an Ambassador with the Greater Houston Partnership (2007 Life Member). In 2008, Rick was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas Judicial Council. More recently, Rick was invited to the White House by Former President George W. Bush in October 2008, and was recognized as a leader within the Hispanic community. (Please see below for an overview of Rick’s community involvement.) In addition to his work in the community, Rick is often quoted in broadcast and print outlets as an expert on investing and personal finance trends.

Rick's business philosophy is centered around the client, looking at the big picture and focusing on client's goals and aspirations. Insisting on understanding the specific situations and goals of the clients he works with, Rick endeavors to establish deep and valued and lifelong relationships. He enjoys traveling with his wife and four children, along with playing golf, spending time on his ranch with family and friends, and being involved with his church.
