Speaker: Neal Immega
Topic: Origin of Life

Neal's presentation will showcase the German hardstone carvings from the Dreher workshop, currently on display at the museum. Neal has a BS in geology from Texas A&M and Ph.D. in paleontology from Indiana U. He worked for Shell Oil in their research lab for 25 years and retired in 1999. He now volunteers at the Houston Geological Society, Houston Gem and Mineral Society, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The activity he is most proud of is the coaching of Science Olympic teams in paleontology and mineralogy. In the last five years his teams have won the national championship twice.
