Speaker: Kim Hansen - Yellowstone Academy
Kim Hansen serves as the Director of Program Advancement at Yellowstone Academy, a private Christian school serving under-resourced children in Houston’s historic Third Ward neighborhood. Along with Yellowstone College Prep, a new public charter school, the Yellowstone Schools are pioneering an innovative co-location model that is the first of its kind in Texas. Prior to this role, Kim served as the Founding Executive Director of Yellowstone Academy for more than decade, bringing with her a wealth of experience, passion, and a deep commitment to excellence. Kim graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and went on to earn a master’s degree in Education Administration from Houston Baptist University in 1999. Kim is certified by the State of Texas in early childhood education, 1st – 8th grade education, and special education at all levels and has also received her state certification in Mid‑Management Administration. In addition to teaching experience in public and private schools, Kim has management and administration experience at the Star of Hope and Second Baptist School. In 2011, Kim was honored with the Texas AdvancED Excellence in Education Award for demonstrating unparalleled leadership in promoting and advancing excellence in education.
