Bio: Jim Bevill is a Senior Vice President – Wealth Management, in the River Oaks office of UBS Financial Services in Houston. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in 1983.
Jim began his career at Merrill Lynch and spend almost twenty-five years there before moving to UBS in 2008, where he formed the Bevill Wealth Management Group with his wife, Jodie. Their team was formed to provide clients unparalleled service through relevant investment advice and effective planning strategies for high net worth individuals.
He is also an economic and financial historian and an award winning author. His book, The Paper Republic: The Struggle for Money, Credit and Independence in the Republic of Texas, is an engaging non-fiction narrative about the role that money and finances played in the founding, and the ultimate loss of sovereignty by the Republic of Texas.
His book was the winner of four literary awards, including the Summerfield G. Roberts award by the Sons of the Republic of Texas in 2010, and as the Best Specialized Book on U.S. Paper Money by the Numismatic Literary Guild at the ANA's World's Fair of Money in Boston, August 2010.
