Gabe Malek is Chief of Staff at Fervo Energy, a next-generation geothermal developer leveraging horizontal drilling and distributed fiber optic sensing to deliver 24/7 carbon-free electricity. Prior to joining Fervo, Gabe served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Mark Carney, Co-Chair of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) and former Governor of the Bank of England. In this role, Gabe devoted particular attention to GFANZ's energy transition strategy, working with leading banks, asset managers, and financial regulators to align international policy frameworks with clean energy deployment.

Gabe began his career at Environmental Defense Fund, where he helped formalize the organization's investor engagement program and lead analysis on "transferred emissions" in upstream oil and gas M&A.  His research on the energy transition has appeared in the New York Times, Financial Times, and other outlets. Gabe holds a BA from Yale University.
