Speaker: Ed Hirs

Ed Hirs is a leading energy economist at the University of Houston recognized for his prescient work across energy markets—including how the Texas grid would collapse.  For more than 40 years, he has worked with energy companies in operations and finance.  He founded and co-chairs an annual energy conference at Yale University.  His articles and commentary are frequently seen in Forbes, The Houston Chronicle, Oil and Gas Investor, and a variety of national outlets.  He is the KHOU 11 News energy expert.  Hirs earned his BA, MA in Economics, and BA from Yale University.  He also holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.  Follow Ed on X @edhirs, on LinkedIn, and at edhirs.com.
