Speaker: Rasesh Patel

Rasesh is President of NRG Consumer, overseeing the company’s Smart Home and Home Energy segments, which serve ~8 million North American customers and generate ~$12 billion in annual revenue. With a portfolio of trusted brands including Reliant, Vivint, NRG, Direct Energy, and Green Mountain Energy, NRG Consumer integrates advanced smart home technologies with innovative energy solutions. This approach positions NRG as a leader in both sectors, offering consumers enhanced control over energy use, home protection and automation while staying ahead of emerging trends. Dedicated to increasing customer value and supporting employees, communities, and the environment, NRG Consumer is at the forefront of creating a sustainable and connected future in energy and home services.

Rasesh joined NRG from Vivint, serving as President of Vivint Smart Home since NRG’s acquisition in March 2023. Prior to Vivint, he spent seven years at AT&T where he served in various executive leadership roles before being named chief product and platform officer for AT&T business. In that capacity, Rasesh was responsible for a P&L with $35 billion of annual revenue, as well as its integrated platforms, products, and solutions including fiber, 5G, Edge, IoT, cybersecurity, collaboration, and cloud connectivity.

Prior to its acquisition by AT&T, Rasesh served as senior vice president of customer experience for DIRECTV. Through his focus on developing a seamless omnichannel customer experience, DIRECTV’s NPS improved from third to first in the industry while simultaneously driving significant operating efficiencies.

Rasesh received an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
