Jie earned both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at
Houston
. She began her nursing career as a surgical oncology nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 1990. Quickly she found her passion in oncology clinical research. She worked as a research nurse, research nurse supervisor, manager, and now an Administrative Director of Clinical Research for the department of Breast Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has conducted, managed and supervised numerous clinical trials in the areas of breast cancer and palliative care. Her current research is mainly concerned with inflammatory breast cancer. In the last 20 years, Jie has authored and co-authored over 80 publications and actively engaged in presentations at national and international symposiums and conferences.
